Castles and Estates - Inverness

Enjoy a day trip to Inverness, the only City in the Highlands and eleven miles from Garve.  Inverness has plenty to offer visitors to the area, one attraction being Inverness Castle.  The Castle is built on the site of an earlier fortress in 1835 and sits on a low cliff overlooking the River Ness.  It is built on the site of an 11th Century defensive structure and is believed to have formed the ancient town, which rapidly developed as port trading with Europe in the 6th Century.  The Jacobites later blew the Castle up to stop it from falling into Government hands.

Eilean Donan Castle – Lochlash
As one of the most iconic images of Scotland, Eilean Donan Castle is recognized all over the World.  Situated on an island at the point where all three great sea lochs meet, and surrounded by magical scenery, it is little wonder that the Castle is one of the most photographed and most important visitor attraction in the Scottish Highlands.
